Membership

Membership in the CLRA/ACRSD is available to anyone interested in or actively engaged in reclamation activities. The Association draws members from a wide range of industries, universities, consulting companies and government departments. The personal skills and interests of members are diverse and include agriculture, botany, plant ecology, forestry, wildlife biology, soil science, bioscience, landscape architecture, land use planning, civil and mine engineering, construction and reclamation. Except for honorary Life Memberships, all memberships in the CLRA/ACRSD are for one calendar year.

Member Benefits

Among the benefits of membership are:

  • Annual Membership Directory containing contact information for more than 1100 individual and corporate CLRA members involved in land reclamation across Canada;

  • Receive Canadian Reclamation magazine in the mail two (2) times per year – featuring news, project articles, supplier information and much more information pertaining to land reclamation in Canada and around the world;

  • Receive notices, calls for papers and discounted registration fees for National Annual Meetings and Conferences as well as Chapter events;

  • Tremendous networking opportunities at National and Chapter events;

  • Linkages with other professional land reclamation associations in the UK, USA, Australia and China;

  • Members are some of the first to learn about new regulatory initiatives; membership provides access to regulatory workshops and lunch and learns (chapter specific);

  • Access to discounted rates for Chapter lunch and learns and workshops;

  • Fees help support educational awards and scholarships in land reclamation;

  • CLRA activities can help you be involved with charitable opportunities (e.g. golf tournaments).

Categories & Rates

Membership in the Canadian Land Reclamation Association/ association canadienne de réhabilitation des sites dégradés is of interest to students and professionals interested in or actively engaged in reclamation activities in industry, post-secondary institutions, consulting companies and government departments.
 
The CLRA/ACRAD offers four categories of membership:

  • Corporate, available to corporations, municipalities, governments or other organizations; (FEE: $250.00)

  • Regular, available to individuals; (FEE: $75.00)

  • Student, available to full-time students; (FEE: $15.00)

  • Retiree, available to retired persons. (FEE: $25.00)

Membership is for one calendar year and includes the receipt of the CLRA Member Directory, an annual publication that lists member contact information by interest and expertise, a subscription to Canadian Reclamation magazine, a periodical that features articles about current and emerging reclamation projects and practices, and access to the CLRA/ACRSD Newsletter, and conference proceedings.

 

These publications allow the organization to have an informal, instructional role in the decision-making processes of reclamation/rehabilitation projects and to act as a forum for the dissemination of ideas and information pertinent to reclamation activities.

 

CLRA/ACRSD is an active member of the International Affiliation of Land Reclamationists. As such, all members of CLRA/ACRSD are also members of the IALR.
